Exploration 3 by Simmi Randhawa

1) My active reading is going quite well, I don't usually like to read but this book is forcing me to keep reading. It also helps for me to mark up the text as I read because then I can go back and look at my notes to jog my memory. One thing I noted for today's reading was the different characterizations for the people that occurred. Such as how much Rat Kiley cared about Curt Lemon, and their relationship throughout the war and their journey together.

2) The story that meant the most to me so far would be How to Tell a True War Story. This story stood out to me because this chapter displayed the true feelings of a soldier. "Rat pours his heart out. He says he loved the guy. He says the guy was his best friend in the world. They were like soul mates, he says, like twins or something, they had a whole lot in common" (O'Brien 65). This shows how much soldiers have to endure both physically and mentally. Also, Rat's connection with Curt was absolutely amazing, such a deep and meaningful friendship.

3) In the book, so far Mitchell Sanders has stood out to me. Even though he tells a lot of stories that are not entirely true, he seems wise just by the way he tells the stories. His stories are also quite elaborate which shows his use of imagination.
