I really enjoyed the insight of your presentation, Micheal having the background of actually visiting there made the presentation have more dept. Its crazy that half of the people died building the temple and that they imported the stone on ice! I would love to visit there. I would like to know more on what they do in the temple and the daily routine now a days. Overall really informative presentation!
ReplyDeleteThis presentation was FULL of information. I really enjoyed the places where the Chinese phrases were tied in. I think it really added another detention to the presentation. I also liked how there were the little details about how the emperors lived. If there was a comparison I didn’t catch it, but i feel like a comparison to something relevant would have made the Forbidden City a little more clear and conceptual.
ReplyDeleteThe abundance of information presented was fascinating, but what I believe really drew everybody in was the animations and transitions between slides. It really made my eyes widen. I also really enjoyed the fluency in the Chinese during the presentation. One criticism I would suggest would be a little more cooperation during the body of the presentation versus what seemed to be the divide and conquer method.
ReplyDeleteI heard a little bit about The Forbidden City through movie and stuff but never learned in depth about it. I think you guys did an awesome job with the design and background for the slides! I also like how you went in details about the emperors and how people were dying during the process of building this which kind of reminded me of the process of building The Great Wall. I would like to see more pictures and maybe talk about the coloration of this architecture since it's very unique compared to what we have now.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about this presentation was the use of the video. The way that it was muted while you were talking was just a very clean and nice way to let us make our own observations while giving us information at the same time.
ReplyDeleteYou might consider using less transitions in the slides. I found them to be a bit distracting throughout the presentation, though that may just be my personal preference.
You guys had a very thorough presentation! There was tons of information and you both seemed very passionate about the topic. I really liked how in depth you went on the details of the history and the meaning behind it. Although, it seemed that only one of you knew the information and talked on it while the other barely talked. Overall great presentation!
ReplyDeleteThis presentation was full of information, and it was presented in a very factual manner. The most interesting part of it, for me, was learning that Beijing has been the capitol of China for so many years, regardless of the name change. One thing that could be polished up would be that of how you two presented. Bounce off of one another instead of having each do a slide and explain. Overall, good presentation!
ReplyDeleteNot going to lie, I knew very little about pre-Mao Zedong Chinese history. I found this very interesting, and very informative. I loved the little things in this presentation. The things that weren't extremely important, but peaked my interest; for example, the fact that the emperor slept in multiple rooms. Overall, I loved the presentation, and I had no real criticisms of it.
