I really enjoyed how in-depth you explained how the crash happened. The images you used allowed for a visual explanation along with the verbal made it very easy to understand. It was also very interesting to me to learn how much of an effect our economy has on the world's economy.
ReplyDeleteWhile you guys gave a very well put together presentation, it may have helped to explain a little more on the major effects of the crash such as how it effected the common people of the US in the different social classes and how the different countries around the world and our own strived to fix the crisis.

DeleteI always heard about this 2008 crisis, but I never fully learned about it. You guys did such a good job in illustrating the story with infographics. However, most of the images you used weren't very clear and kind of hard to see. I also agree with Katie and think that your presentation could be even better if you explain more about the financial crisis affected the US.
ReplyDeleteThe 2008 Financial Crisis is an interesting and important topic to me. I was excited for your presentation, as I wanted to compare my knowledge with yours. And I was surprised at how much information you guys were able to pack into these 9 minutes! I had no clue that our market drop effected the Ukraine as much as it did, a -60% in currency is truly devastating to a nation. The only issue I had was you guys didn't mention stocks much and I feel that those are an important concept for the market drop as well.

DeleteYou guys did a great job on your presentation! I loved the visual representation you guys used and how you went in depth to explain it. It was also very apparent that you guys did a lot of researching over this topic and that you really knew what you were talking about. One thing that I think could've made the presentation stronger is if you explained how the U.S recovered from this devastating crisis. Overall you did a great job!
ReplyDeleteThe exposition of the entire Financial Crisis in 8 min(maybe less) was surprising considering the complexity of it. I really liked how you guys showed the pictures of how the Financial Crisis came to be. I think the presentation would greatly benefit if you added a anecdote about how people experienced this crisis. Overall this is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI knew about the financial crisis because my dad really suffered during this time because he owns his own business, so money was tight. Other than that I don't know much about fiance or politics, so this presentation was very insightful and well done. All of this information was very complex and there was a lot of it, so I think you guys did a great job at finding what was the most important and compacting it into something we could all understand in a short period of time. I think the strongest part of the presentation was the graphics you used to support your arguments, like the graphs and info graphics such as the effects on other countries during that time. And how the US isn't even on the top 50 list! One thing that could have been stronger is the recovery process and what shifted a change, as well as if there is any way to prevent it. I loved your presentation!
ReplyDeleteYou guys did awesome! I could tell you guys were very knowledgeable on your topic and seemed to be very interested in it. I know it was said that there was a ton that could be said about your topic, but I’m glad you highlighted the main points of it and were able to spell it out to make it as easy as possible for everyone to understand. The pictures helped a lot and brought the whole presentation together. Good job!
ReplyDeleteBefore your presentation I didn't know too many details about the 2008 financial crisis. However, the way you both explained it made it a lot more clearer, and made it interesting with the visuals you guys used. I learned that the supply was larger than the demand, causing a crash. Also, the main effect was on housing. The pictures used helped everyone understand what you were talking about, even if you didn't have any background information. One thing that would've made the presentation stronger would be to include some more everyday examples, such as your example of gas prices, more things that people our age would understand a bit more. The information was very helpful, great job!
ReplyDeleteYou guys did a very good job explaining a very complex topic. I didn't really know the major causes of the crisis before and feel like I had a descent understanding when I left. You worked very well as a team and your slides were extremely helpful. It is hard to find a criticism, but it would've been nice to know more about how it affected people during the crisis.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciated your presentation's slide design! It was very clean and just all around nice to look at. I often have trouble listening to a lecture with no visual aides, so the graphics were super useful for me.
ReplyDeleteOne thing you might consider is something to make the presentation more interesting. I realize this is hard to do with a financial topic, but bringing in a video or telling a story might have been better at holding attention for those of us who don't understand economics well.
You explained the 2008 Financial Crisis extremely well and I liked the use of the slides in your explanation. You both worked well as a team and managed to make it an interesting topic despite being a complicated subject. One thing that would improve your presentation is if it had a bit more explanation of why it was actually iconic, and not just explaining the certain things that happened.
ReplyDeleteThank you to everybody for the feedback! I appreciate all the complements and suggestions!
ReplyDeleteI really liked the intro, and the background knowledge for how the Financial Crisis happened, it was easy to understand and with visuals that were aligned with it. Why it was iconic and the explanation behind it was hard to follow, maybe next time allow for certain slides to highlight that. Overall the teamwork and flow between the two of you was something I enjoyed.
ReplyDeleteI could tell the topic you guys were trying to cover was a lot more complicated than expected but you executed this presentation so well. I was able to understand the process that led to the market crash and was actually surprised that there was so much damage done. I enjoyed the question you asked about who was more likely to rent, men or women? I think this was a big subject that you successfully condensed for this presentation, awesome job!
ReplyDeleteThis presentation was filled with information and you two did a great job at keeping our attention and keeping it more fun! I was not familiar with the 2008 financial crisis prior to your presentation but afterwards I feel like I know so much about the time. The only thing that I would suggest is that the presentation could’ve benefitted from a bit more information on the the crisis directly impacted the people and how they dealt with it. Overall, great job! You two worked great with eachother.
ReplyDeleteI was really surprised with how easily you guys were able to simplify such a complex topic into something those of us with a basic understanding of the market could comprehend. I enjoyed the content and the way you presented the basic before the actual issue. I feel that a video could have supported your presentation but I did enjoy the real world story you used instead.
ReplyDeleteBeing completely honest, I liked your guys' presentation more than any of the other ones. It wasn't because it was particularly more interesting than the others (though I do like economics), it was more due to the fact that your presentation flowed VERY well, and you guys clearly knew what to say. Furthermore, it was very informative and I think that you guys explained it in a way in which people who aren't very knowledgeable on economics (and your subject in general) could understand. Great presentation guys.
ReplyDeleteBraeden and Evan, I loved your presentation! I really didn’t know much about the 2008 financial crisis much until listening to your presentation. I think it flowed really well and it seemed like you both definitely did your research about this topic. I’m not a huge fan of economics but I was not once bored or uninterested during your presentation! I think that what could have made it better was possibly a better introduction? You just didn’t really catch my attention immediately, but other than that I loved it!
ReplyDeleteThe structure and flow of your presentation was great! The information you guys covered was very informative and the graphs helped to follow along with a topic that could be confusing at times. My favorite graphic was the chart you showed of the countries most effected by the 2008 financial crash and the U.S. was not even in the top 50 effected. I would have liked a little more explanation in the introduction as I was struggling to follow the images, but overall great presentation!
ReplyDeleteThis presentation is one of my favorites. The use of many graphics helped the audience work through this very large and complicated matter. One thing you may want to consider is using more anecdotes to explain your subject. Anecdotes would help the listeners understand the subject even better. Overall a wonderful presentation.
