I have never heard of Woodstock before but I feel like I kind of know about it now as you guys presented very well. I like how you engaged with the class and asked us questions as you go along. One thing I was looking to see on your presentation was music since Woodstock was a music festival, so I feel like your presentation could be better if you include some kind of video or even sound effects. But overall, well done!!
ReplyDeleteYou two worked well together and it seemed you could bounce off of one another. There were a few times when one person was struggling and the other would swoop in and start talking, that showed good team work. I learned that some artists didn't make it to the concert which is surprising, as I figured everyone would try and make it to this huge event. The only thing I would have liked was possibly a random person who was there's' story? It would have been interesting to see what the average how was thinking during this event. Good job though!
ReplyDeleteYour presentation appeared to be well rehearsed and you both made good eye contact with the audience. I also like how you asked the audience questions throughout the presentation as a way to keep us engaged. One thing that I think could've made the presentation stronger are videos of some of the music that was played during the festival. You gave examples of artists that were present but I think a video of them performing or a clip of their music would've helped the audience better understand. Overall it was a great presentation!
ReplyDeleteI heard of Woodstock but I never knew what it was until after this presentation. For someone like me who had no idea about the event really, you guys explained it well. I also can’t even imagine 500,000 people crammed together in one area! I think it would have been cool to see some footage of the actual festival and the artists playing some songs, but overall you guys explained everything very well!
ReplyDeleteI've always known about Woodstock to an extent. Basically I knew it was about hippies and drugs, and that my Grandma was alive during that time. I thought you guys really worked well together, and I thought the presentation was very fluent, and I could tell you practiced/ did a lot of research. My favorite part of the presentation was when you mentioned the freak out tents, I thought this was super interesting and almost seemed unreal! I would love to know more about how Woodstock ended, and how police & officials handled this. I also liked how you really made a point that it was a rebellion, and people wanted to connect to earth with the use of drugs.
ReplyDeleteBoth of you presented the information very well, in an organized manner. I didn't know what Woodstock was until your presentation. I loved how in the introduction you created an image, told us to imagine ourselves in the setting. I loved the point that one of the reasons why it was iconic was because of its spontaneity, 200,000 people were expected but 500,000 people actually came to the festival. Also, one thing that stuck to me about Woodstock was that it was spontaneous because it is "never to be forgotten, never to be duplicated." One thing that you may consider is having a better transition into the conclusion, explaining how the event came to an end.
ReplyDeleteI thought your presentation was a great start! I didn't know much about Woodstock before but after I left with a pretty good understanding. The pictures you guys had in the presentation represented the event very well. You guys also worked very well as a team. It took a few seconds for you guys to get into a flow though. I also think you could have prepared for audience questions a little bit more. Although, overall very good.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved the pictures you included in the presentation! As soon as you opened the presentation the picture with the person selling LSD/Acid for $1.00 immediately caught my attention. You guys also had a very nice intro. Additionally, the way you said "You had to be there." really helped set into perspective why Woodstock was iconic.
ReplyDeleteA constructive criticism you can consider is that the body points seemed a bit weak. The content itself wasn't weak, but the confidence you had delivering them was. You guys clearly worked really hard to make the intro and outro great, but the meat of the presentation seemed to need a bit more practice.
The best thing about this presentation was that I really got a feel for what it was like to be there. Even though it was one of those "you had to be there" times, you both still did a wonderful job of explaining it. One criticism I have is I didn't know why all of these injuries were happening and you talked about how half of them weren't drug related, so some more background on that information would have helped. Overall great job!
ReplyDeleteOne thing that I really noticed was your guys’ cooperation. This was actually golden. I loved that you guys shared information together and backed each other up. I knew about the drug use that occurred, but never knew about the pink tents and freak out tents. I was surprised that they were just operated by others attending the event and that really hooked me further in. One criticism I have is I would suggest a different intro, or ask a question that the audience could answer to get them engaged in the presentation. The rhetorical question was pretty effective to me though. You guys killed this presentation!
ReplyDeleteI think you did a good point of presenting the points of topic, it was easy to follow in what the iconic points were of this event. The flow and transition between slides and topics was really smooth and you encorperated all the points together effectively. The light humor and engagement with the audience was something that was engaging for the audience. I think you encorperated some information that was unnecessary for the points. I think the overall content was good, but small details was something I didn’t find informative and helpful for the iconic reasons. Overall, I think you did a great job presenting this topic.
ReplyDeleteTabby and Katie, loved your presentation on Woodstock! I have never even heard of Woodstock before your presentation and I think I learned a lot. Something you did really well was your intro. I liked how you had the class imagine living in the 70s and getting dressed to go to Woodstock with our friends. I also liked how you two worked together; I think the presentation flowed really well and I was entertained throughout! One thing I would suggest, however, is that at times you read from the slides a bit too much. other than that I really enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteI was really impressed with the way you two brought the subject up and got the attention of the class with a question. I have heard of Woodstock but I didn’t think that there was such an affect by drugs or that they played a vital role for most those attending. There was a big focus on the drugs seen at Woodstock but I knew of it as more of a music festival so I would have liked if you could’ve touched on that more. Overall, awesome job guys!
ReplyDeleteYou both worked together wonderfully! I could tell you spent a lot of time rehearsing the presentation and it showed! The intro you had put together was great. It certainly grabbed my attention and I’m sure the attention of others. One thing, I felt like the presentation would have benefitted a lot from a video or a short clip. Over all I think you both did great and created a great presentation!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the introduction and had a very firm understanding of the subject. I felt like you really drove the point home that is was iconic with the "you had to be there" but the information that was presented to us it was the next best thing! However, I felt some of the information was not quite relevant to the icon status. The presentation was still great nevertheless.
ReplyDeleteYour guys had a really good introduction, and you didn't rely on the slides too much. It was very informational, especially for people who might not know too much about the event. Liked the focus around the culture surrounding the event (drug culture, hippies, etc). I also liked the inclusion of an anecdote/story, because I feel like it engaged us more in the presentation, and made the presentation overall more interesting.
ReplyDeleteWoodstock is something that I am completely new to and I enjoyed that you guys made this presentation. I really liked how you explained their culture and them becoming anarchists influenced their culture a lot. I really want to know what other people thought about these people. Did they support or hate them?
ReplyDeleteThe introduction was very attention grabbing and set the tone for the entire presentation. It was obvious that you had both done your research and were well prepared. The quote used to summarize Woodstock fit perfectly with the information presented. One thing that could have supported your presentation would be a clip or image showing an overview of the event during a performance.
ReplyDeleteThis presentation overall was very good. I started with no information on this subject and now feel as if I have the working knowledge of the subject. I feel like you guys did a good job of explaining your photographers which were at some points hard to make out. Overall a fun presentation to listen too.
