  1. I only watched two movies of Star Wars series, so I’m not too familiar with her. I learned that she is not only an actress, she is also a writers. She wrote The Princess Diarist. There are some characteristics that on her like speak your mind, don’t limited yourself and advocate for what you feel is important. The presentation is simple and straightforward, and i can feel they are impressed by this person.

  2. Your presentation was powerful. I have never seen any of the Star Wars movies, but I’m glad I hadn’t so i didn’t have a previous opinion of Carrie Fisher before the presentation, as I feel i would have. She’s definitely worth more than the surface of the events like not to use drugs. She showed that she wasn’t her addiction and that even though she may have had weak points in her life, she was still strong. The way you guys presented the information was great. The only thing I would have liked to have seen would have been maybe a short clip from one of the Star Wars movies just to see her in action. Other than that, I feel well informed and you guys did great!

  3. This presentation was great! Your conclusion was so powerful and I loved how you really put it into perspective for people our age. Carrie was a very powerful person and think you two portrayed her beautifully. The only thing I would have liked to see differently would be a bit more information about different movies she was in, not just Star Wars. I personally have never seen Star Wars so I’m curious to know if she had been in any movies I am familiar with. You two did awesome!

  4. Your presentation was really good. I loved your call to action at the end, it was very powerful. I also enjoyed how you included the quote from Carrie about the metal bikini because it added a bit of humor to the presentation. One thing that could've made the presentation stronger is giving us more information on other movies she had been in. I do not know much about Star Wars so I would've liked to see if she was in any other well known films. You both did great!

  5. I haven't watched Star Wars so it was hard for me to connect to your first point of why she was iconic, but I think I grabbed the important point of it as you guys continued throughout the presentation. I like how you mentioned a lot of roles she took on during her lifetime and showed her that we could stand up again after whatever had happened. Out of all the iconic people that we had so far, I think Carrie Fisher is the most relatable as a lot of people nowaday are struggling with addiction themselves and Carrie really showed that we shouldn't just see people through their addiction. Great job guys!

  6. I am a huge Star Wars fan, so I was excited to see that Carrie Fisher was a topic on this assignment, and you two did quite well! I was a pleased to see that you used Star Wars as a reason that she is iconic, but upon seeing how she saw it, it was sad that she couldn’t escape the “shadow” of Princess Leia. I’m also glad that her drug problem was mentioned, as that was a huge part of her life. I had hoped to learn more about her other films, but other than that, good job!

  7. My one criticism was that the introduction was kind of clunky, but after that, the presentation smoothed out.
One thing that interested me in this presentation was her writing career, as I knew nothing about it up until your presentation. I only knew of her as princess Leia from the original Star Wars trilogy (and the new ones I guess), and as the daughter of Debbie Reynolds (who's in Singing in the Rain). I always appreciate when a presentation presents me with things I never knew about, because when its an actor or something I already know about most of their career. Hearing about something fresh like the books she's written interests me quite a bit.
I also really liked the conclusion. It was a good call to action.

  8. Being a big Star Wars fan, I really think you did a great job. I am already very knowledgeable on this subject but feel that you represented what she stood for and the struggles that she had to endure very well. Your conclusion and call to action brought everything to a nice ending. The one thing I wanted to hear more about was the pressures on her in her early life being the daughter of Hollywood royalty.

  9. I really enjoyed this presentation. The outro was very simple, yet powerful. "Be your own Carrie Fisher." That just really struck me.
You might have considered using a better introduction, though. Everyone already knows that most people have seen Star Wars. We don't really need a survey of the room to know that.

  10. I really love Carrie Fisher, and your presentation did her so much justice. She really had a problem that we didn't exactly know about and helped us see her as she was. I loved the part advising us to be our own Carrie Fisher. This was actually my second choice for this project. I really could not find any criticisms for this presentation though. I liked the introduction and you both did a great job.

  11. In the presentation, I liked how you guys started with what she was known as, then transitioned it into how there was more than her just being princess Leigha. I can’t help but mention that your guys’ closing of “Be your own Carrie Fisher” was such a good conclusion. I would possibly suggest a different intro to the presentation.

  12. This presentation was well done. I thought that not only focusing on the "Star Wars" part of her life was great as most people would likely start with that first. The conclusion was really impressive as it really shows why she is iconic. There are no improvements I would consider.

  13. Going into the presentation, I was unsure of who Carrie Fisher was and how she was iconic. As the presentation went on, I was very captivated in her story and learning more of what she stood for. I was very interested in the way she made herself someone she was proud of, such as with her writing. She was not ashamed of her struggles with mental health and substance abuse, which is very different as others in the industry hide that side of their lives. I would have liked to hear more about her past and how she became the woman she was before she started acting. Great job, I loved it!

  14. Prior to the presentation I did not know who Carrie Fisher was. I now feel that I have a good understanding of who she was as a person as well as an actor. I like that you touched on all aspects of her life from her success in the film industry to her personal, everyday struggles. I would have liked to hear more about the effects her addiction and mental health issues had on her acting career.

  15. I have never seen a full Star Wars movie but I did know who Princess Leia was. Since I haven't watched full movie I found it cool and interesting that her character was actually a strong woman rather than a "princess" damsel in distress. I liked how you talked about her advocating for mental health, and how being manic was good at times for her. I found that really interesting. I would like to hear about her life before acting more.

  16. I enjoyed the introduction a lot because I felt that it connected Carrie to people other than star wars fans. I am really glad you guys touched on how Leia wasn't your typical princess, which is a big part of why she is iconic. I think you guys should have gone more in depth with Hollywood corruption because that could have given more insight to the drug and mental health portion.

  17. This presentation did a wonderful job about showcasing all the different parts of Carrie Fisher's career I din not know about. Before the presentation my only knowledge of her was that she played the role of princess Leia in the star wars movies. The presentation showed many of the things that Carrie Fisher did instead of star wars and that was greatly appreciated instead of you telling us what we already knew. Overall the presentation was good and you had an excellent call to action at the end.

  18. The takeaway at the end of your presentation was something meaningful and meant something to us as listeners, I think you did good on that. In the beginning, I couldn’t relate a lot to the Star Wars fact, but quickly understood the meaning and impact it had on her iconic status as a actor and a woman. How you broadened the iconic topics was really nice because you also encorperated her personal life as a writer and a speaker. Overall, I really liked the layout and flow from each topic.

  19. The only thing I really knew about Carrie Fisher was her role in Star Wars even though I have never seen any of the movies. I loved how you showed her iconic outfits and her different styles. The thing that really stuck to me was your call to action at the end of your presentation. It's important to speak your mind and not to limit yourself. Talking about her mental health issues displayed how person can have so many highs and lows in their life at anytime. The information was very interesting and overall an amazing presentation!

  20. I didn't know Carrie Fisher was in a bunch of other movies other than Star Wars and it would be cool to see some of them I think. I liked the call to action about being yourself and standing up for what you believe in. I think that's very powerful. The presentation itself was great and it flowed very well!

  21. I’ve never seen any of the Star Wars films but I knew of Carrie Fisher and her role in the movies. I enjoyed how you didn’t stay on the Star Wars angle for too long though, there was a variety about Carrie including her history with mental illness. I loved the call to action at the end of your presentation and great job guys!
