Before this presentation, I did not know who Audrey Hepburn was. I had heard of "Breakfast at Tiffany's" but I have never seen it. Learning how much of a humanitarian she is and how hard she worked to help people around the world makes me want to see her movies and learn more about her and her acting career as well as other acts of kindness she worked on. I truly admire her for the work she did to help people, for example the dancing she did to raise money, all while balancing that with stardom and acting. I really enjoyed your presentation! I loved how simple your slides were and how you included some of her quotes.
ReplyDeleteIt may have helped us understand more about why she was the woman she became by talking more on her past such as the way she grew up and how her life experiences made her who she was. In example, how did she get started in her works?
Going into this presentation I knew nothing about Audrey Hepburn, honestly the only film of hers that I had heard of was "Breakfast at Tiffany's". Coming out of the presentation though, I believe I know much more about the great woman she was. The groups visuals was quite good and it helped show how she was, without having to explain. She was a fighter for all people and it showed. I would have liked to see/know what she did before death with cancer? Did she focus on cancer charities in her last years? Or did she still keep her horizons broad as in the past? But a good presentation overall!
ReplyDeleteBefore your presentation I had heard of Audrey and her movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's" but that was all the information that I knew. I really liked the video that you included because you had mentioned during the presentation that she was more of an introvert and I could see that during the video. You guys also did a great job of explaining the video afterwards and showing us the purpose of why you included it. One thing that could've made the presentation stronger is you guys projecting your voices more and speaking louder. I had trouble hearing what you guys were saying at times but overall I enjoyed the presentation. Great job!
ReplyDeleteBefore this presentation i only really knew about Breakfast at Tiffany’s and knew close to nothing about her activism and how helpful she really was. I liked how you guys made the PowerPoint simple and the pictures and small amounts of text on the slides really helped to make your presentation better! The only problem was that the video was a little difficult to hear, but knowing what it was about after you guys explained, it was definitely a nice touch. I would’ve liked to have hear a little about her life as a child growing up just to get a feel for how her life went. But I definitely learned a lot from you guys and you guys seemed very well prepared!
ReplyDeleteYour presentation was very informative and well put together! I didn't know too much about Audrey Hepburn besides the fact that she was a fashion icon. I learned so much more about her and how her career actually started, she was well know for "Breakfast at Tiffany's", winning Academy Awards and Golden Globes. One of my favorite quotes from the presentation was "Life is a party. Dress like it." The fact that you included information about her charity work was important in showing that she was well rounded, not just about acting and fashion. One thing that could've added to the presentation was speaking a bit louder and adding overall more details about how her career slowly came to an end and how she passed away. Overall I really enjoyed listening to your presentation!
ReplyDeleteI had never really heard of Audrey Hepburn coming into this presentation, and now I feel like I have a good idea of who she is. My favorite thing in your presentation was the "Why does she matter" slide. A good presentation always makes the subject relevant, and that's exactly what that slide did!
ReplyDeleteAs far as constructive criticism goes, you might consider speaking with more volume next time. Sometimes it was difficult to hear the information. The best way to get your volume up is to practice, practice, practice! The volume of the video also could have been better, as I was straining to hear what she was saying throughout a lot of it.
I really enjoyed learning about Audrey Hepburn and her contribution to society. She really was a rare type of person, as not many celebrities are like her, especially in her time. Her movies are well-known and she was a true philanthropist. One thing that would have made this presentation better is if you had engaged with the audience a little more and worked to be more cohesive as a group.
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing your guys’ enthusiasm about Audrey Hepburn. I could see that you guys were fanatics of her work and you enjoyed her messages that she portrayed. I knew that she was an actor, but I had no prior knowledge of her putting forth efforts to end the war. Also, your use of pictures and person evidence was really effective. The one suggestion I would give is you could have covered up coming and early career, but that didn’t take away from the presentation at all. I loved it!
ReplyDeleteI really liked the intro and how you started off with subtle references to the iconic reasons right off the bat. The exposition and description was a great hook to the presentation. I think what was hard to follow was the video, it was hard to hear, so maybe subtitles? Although that is a small suggestion, I think overall the presentation was effective and capturing in the information provided for this iconic figure.
ReplyDeleteI think you guys did a really great job of highlighting parts of her life that weren't as well known. I have never seen any movies that Audrey Hepburn but I did know that she was an actress before the presentation. I had no idea she was such an activist. Talking about what your grandmother remembered about her was a nice inclusion. My only criticism is that a couple times it seemed as if you relied upon your note cards too much.
ReplyDeleteTaylor and Kim, I really enjoyed your presentation on Audrey Hepburn! Breakfast at Tiffany’s is a classic film. Your presentation went really well, I think, and I certainly learned a lot about Audrey Hepburn that I hadn’t already known, such as her involvement with charity work. One thing that would’ve made the presentation better was speaking a bit louder; at times I couldn’t really hear what was being said. Overall, awesome presentation!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't really know anything about her work before this presentation but you guys presented the information very nicely. I also like how you guys really emphasized the fact that she participated in charities a lot. She not only gave her money but also her time to charity and that's an important aspect. The only thing that would have made it better is speaking a bit more audibly because it was a little quiet at times.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this presentation from you guys! I knew of and had seen Breakfast at Tiffanys but I didn’t realize how much Aubrey Hepburn helped with charity. It was pleasantly educational and the way you presented to topics flowed great. Taylor, I was really excited to hear that you talked to your grandma about Audrey and hearing her experiences! I would’ve liked to know more about the beginning of her career and how she started out.
ReplyDeleteYour presentation was great! I loved how you surrounded the topic of Audrey Hepburn and brought evidence from multiple places to help support your claim! I learned a lot about Audrey from your presentation. The only thing that I think would have made the presentation better would be a smoother conclusion. I felt like the body of the presentation was so strong that the conclusion should have been strong as well. Overall you both did a great job!
ReplyDeleteYou guys had great teamwork and coordination! I am glad you shared the fact that she was in Breakfast at Tiffany's because I have heard songs and references to the movie but never knew why but it was all about Audrey! On the flip side, I felt like it was a little rough around the edges, and what I mean by that was the video could have been introduced a little better and the conclusion needed a bit of refining. Aside from all that the presentation was very informative!
ReplyDeleteI've never really been a huge fan of her movies, but I still have seen them (her biggest hits at least). I think after your presentation, I am more interested in her work than I was before (mostly her personal stuff, her films just aren't my cup of tea). I certainly have more of an appreciation for her now, and its due to the informative nature of your presentation. If I were to offer constructive criticism, I'd say that it could have possibly had a better introduction, but other than that, I thought it was a very good presentation, that showed a very multi-dimensional (don't know if that would be the word, but you know what I mean) person.
ReplyDeleteI loved the introduction of how you described her role in the movie. It was really nice to see an anecdote. Although there were many references that were a bit off to me, but I still enjoyed the reasons why she was iconic. I liked the video about her interview and how she helps people. Its also interesting to see an introvert play extroverted roles as I am an introvert myself. I would improve the conclusion.
ReplyDeleteGoing into your presentation, I had no knowledge of Audrey Hepburn as an actor or her efforts in the war through charity work. You did a great job with the information presented and I like that you focused more on her charity work and activism rather than her acting career. Some constructive criticism I would offer would be to try to make more eye contact with the audience. Nice presentation!
ReplyDeleteThis presentation was good showcasing why Audrey Hepburn was iconic. It was fun to hear about how she was just an actress who stayed in Hollywood but rather someone who went out of their way to change the world. You may want to consider rehearsing more to help grow your confidence in the subject. Overall a good presentation.
